Jeff, you said, “the subject continues on…to other books, and if are they “believable?”…If you are going to come from the premise that not even morality can be rightly defined because, in your reality there is no absolute, than surely what is “believable” in other books, is also left to multiple interpretations and therefore whatever truth is revealed in them could NEVER really be grasped…what a pointless search you are on. TRUTH is revealed to a heart that is humble and it is understood by a mind that embraces the infinite possiblities of FAITH…Man can never, in his finite state, even begin to understand real truth apart from God revealing it. And He did it in such a way that those who are wise in their own eyes, will never find it.

  • Jeff:

    Hi Aimee,
    Thanks for the comment.
    I have a few thoughts:

    - I didn’t say that morality could not be defined or that there was no morality. I was simply discussing some basic questions concerning the way that we discuss morality.

    - I don’t think I said anything about there being “no absolutes”.

    - Going with what was said in the video, how is it that you KNOW that man in his finite state cannot understand truth apart from God revealing it?

    - Are you talking only about “spiritual truth” or does God hid ALL truth from those who don’t have faith?

    Jeff

  • Aimee Heard:

I am absolutely confident that you know what the answer is but you are captivated with the idea of debate and “the search”…always learning but never arriving to the true knowledge. And since I am not one to squander precious insights or time, I pray that God will answer all your questions, all your deep concerns and doubts; He IS ALL and every knee WILL bow and that time is not that far off Jeff.

  • Jeff:

So you have time to criticize but not to explain why you believe something? That would be a waste of “precious insights”?

Thanks for your prayers. So very helpful.

  • Aimee Heard:

I have been thoroughly convinced of what I have come to know as truth. I am also too familiar with this dance and so, although you say that you are sincere in your desire for discussion and the pursuit of understanding, I have my doubts. After reading a few of the comments on your blog, it is clear to me that you are more determined to disprove Christianity than to gain insight. Therefore, I choose to cling to my pearls. Good day.
