Consciencebound

Bart Ehrman has written a new book entitled God’s Problem: How the Bible Fails to Answer Our Most Important Question–Why We Suffer. One of my favorite radio personalities Dennis Prager interviewed Bart Ehrman today and they discussed his new book. For me, listening to a thoughtful discussion between two educated people who disagree with each other but are able to be very polite, cordial and respectful is one of the most enjoyable things to do. This interview is one of those discussions as is almost every show of Dennis Prager’s where he talks with someone he disagrees with. Prager is a religious Jew and is a very knowledgeable man on many subjects. Ehrman is an agnostic and a respected scholar in the field of the early church and the life of Jesus. I thought both gentleman did a fine job articulating their positions and interacting with each other which made it a shear joy to listen to. If you are at all interested in the topic of God and how belief in God squares with the reality of the suffering that we see in this world you will find this conversation to be very stimulating.

The book written by Ehrman sounds like it would be an interesting read and I would always recommend any and all of Dennis Prager’s radio shows, lectures or books if you are interested.
